2 Minute Photoshop to Remove Acne and Redness

This is a very simple way to get rid off those ugly acne and redness caused by it in your photos.This is how the final output will look like in minutes.

  • This is the image iam going to work on to remove the acne.
  • First of all Open the image to be edited by File->Open or just by dragging the image to photoshop.
  • Now open Hue/Saturation using Ctrl+U or from create new fill or adjustment layer.

  • Slightly adjust the Hue bar and Lightness bar to change the skin tone.

  • Now you will find the entire color would have changed. So to get back the colour over features like lips and eyes, choose brush tool and paint with foreground colour as black on those parts.

  • Now Choose the Spot Healing Brush Tool from the tool box.

  • With the background layer(not Hue/saturation layer) selected, paint like dots over the acne. Do it on all the areas where you want to clear it up.

  • Inorder to give it a realistic look choose the color of the lip by pressing Alt +Click and setting the brush size high , opacity=20% , paint over the face gently.

  • Now finally look at your image for any faults and make necessary adjustments with the above steps done already.

  • The final output is seen this way for this acne removal image.

Creating animated image in photoshop (GIF images)

Here iam sharing a basic animation of a bouncing ball. Its very simple and can be learned in minutes.


  • Open the image to be animated. Here I have selected a ball.

  • Remove the lock of the background by dragging into the trash.

  • Next step is to separate the ball from its background. For that select quick selection tool from tool box and select the ball. Now right click and choose select inverse and press delete.

  • Now you can see the ball on a transparent background as shown here. 

  • Now create new layer by clicking on the new layer button below.

  • Now select the foreground color to black and fill it using paint bucket tool.

  • Now bring down the new layer below the other layer just by dragging it down.

  • Go to window->Animation. Then you will get the timeline bar below which is required for performing animation.

  • Select the ball using move tool and transform its size by pressing Alt+Shift+Z and resizing with mouse.

  • Select the first frame in the timeline and drag the ball to the left corner.

  • Now create new frame  by clicking the icon at the timeline corner or as shown below. 

  • Select the second frame and move the ball to the centre as shown.

  • Now select both the frames together by pressing ctrl and also both the layers. Click on tweens animation frame.

  • Set the number of frames to add to 10 and select ok.

  • You can see that there new 10 frames created in between.

  • Select the last frame and click on duplicate selected frame button below.

  • Select the new duplicated frame(that is the last frame) and move the ball to the right corner.

  • Once again select the last two frames together and also the two layers and assign the frames to add as 10 by clicking on tween animation frame.

  • Again you will get 10 frames inserted in between. Now if you want to set time delay to increase or decrease the movement speed, just click on sec drop down at the bottom of frame. You can assign the time delay as per your need for each frame.

  • Go to File->Save for Web & Devices.

  • Choose file type as GIF and looping option forever(as your requirement) and save it.

  • Now open the created the gif image in any browser.

Tutorial to Paint Flag Over Face.

Painting Flag on Face during sport events, national occasions are commonly seen. If you wanna try the same look, you can do it very well in photoshop. Here are the steps..

  • Open the image preferably cut out from the background because here i will be placing it over other file.

  • Press Ctrl+J or right click on layer and select duplicate layer.

  • Press Ctrl+U and lower the saturation to zero.

  • Press Ctrl+L and move the input level cursor to adjust shadow and lighting according to your image or as given below. 

  • Create new group by pressing ctrl+G and drag the layer1 copy inside it. Name the group layer as flag by double clicking on it.

  • Add layer mask to the group layer. (Make sure you give add mask to the group folder flag and not to the individual layer.)

  • Press Ctrl+I to invert the layer mask.(Now you will see the mask changed its color from white to black).

  • Select brush tool, set opacity to 80%, foreground color to white and paint on the face carefully.

  • The more accurate and neat you paint with brush, the better will be the output.Now your face will be like this.

  • Now open the flag you want to place it. Here i have chosen German Flag. After opening, Press Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C.

  • Now come back to the face you were working on and Press Ctrl+V. This will paste the flag over the face.

  • Resize the pasted flag to fit in the face like below.

  • Use the brush tool and paint on those areas which are not covered by selecting that particular color.

  • Now change the layer blending mode to multiply.Name this layer as layer multiply.

  • Now use  Press ctrl+J or right click and duplicate the layer. Name the new duplicated layer as layer overlay. Select the smudge tool from tool box and smudge the hard lines on face to give it natural painted effect.

  • Bring the layer overlay below layer multiply by dragging. Adjust the opacity level of layer multiply to 90% and layer overlay to 35%. This may vary for your image accordingly.

  • Now with the layer multiply selected create new layer and rename it as highlights. Now select brush tool , brush opacity=10% , foreground color to white and brush on those areas of face where more lighting is needed.

  • Change the layer blending mode of highlights layer to overlay.

  • Finally select all the layers by holding ctrl and select and move the entire face image to the already opened flag image and place it. 
  • Now Select the unedited layer(first layer, here layer1),go to blending options, and adjust the inner glow as shown below or as you want it to be.

  • There you have the final image..!
